ENQUIRE ABOUT FLOW

THE WORKFLOW

A newborn workflow mapped out from start to finish. A framework you can use, adapt and make your own.

wrapping & posing

We'll work through how I wrap and pose a newborn and more importantly how to move between poses seamlessly.

DREAMY LIGHT

I'll show you how I look at a space and find the light and where to position baby and the family.

You know how to use a camera, so why can a newborn session still feel like alot?

Because there's a LOT happening at once, you're not imagining it.

Baby needs settling.

Mum needs direction.

Dad's wondering where to put his hands.

A toddler has decided they're absolutely not participating.

You're watching the light.

You're thinking about your settings.

You're trying to remember whether you've photographed all the shots you need.

And somewhere in the back of your mind you're thinking...

What am I doing next?

That's where a solid workflow changes everything.

what my clients say about their newborn experiences

"From the moment we arrived, she made everything feel calm, welcoming, and completely stress-free."

Jessica L, Newborn Experience

"Her gentle presence and obvious experience meant everything flowed effortlessly, even with a cranky bubba."

Bron C, Newborn Experience

"The whole experience was relaxed and enjoyable, and the final photos completely exceeded our expectations."

Melissa J, Newborn Experience

this isn't about learning more poses

It's about learning how to put everything you already know together.

I'll take you through how I approach a newborn session from beginning to end so that you can see how the pieces fit together.

How to settle a family.

How to read the room.

How I read baby's queues.

How I move from one pose to another.

How to create variety without constantly changing everything.

And how I keep the whole session moving without it feeling rushed.

Because when you know where you're going next, you don't have to spend the entire session making decsions.

You can ACTUALLY enjoy it, be present and photograph.

What we'll cover during the newborn flow

WORKFLOW: We'll map out a newborn session together from start to finish. Not a rigid formula that falls apart the second baby is unsettled. A frame work that you can use, adapt and make your own. You'll learn how I structure a session so I always have a sense of what's been photographed, what's still needed and what to photograph next.

READING THE ROOM: Newborn sessions aren't just about the baby. I'll show you how I read what's happening around me during a session and adjust the workflow accordingly. Babys cues, parents energy, siblings, when to keep going, when to stop, when to change direction and when to just let the moment happen.

WRAPPING & POSING: We'll work through how I wrap and pose a newborn and more importantly how I move between poses. Rather than learning a long list of disconnected poses, you'll see how I create a sequence where one pose leads into the next. This means less stopping, less resetting and less disturbing a settled baby just to get a different image.

THE SHOT LIST: We'll talk about the types of images I get from a newborn session and how I build a gallery with variety. Baby on their own, baby with parents and then each parent, siblings, connection, details different angles and the little in-between moments that you can't prepare for.

DREAMY LIGHT: I'll show you how to look at a space and find the best light to work with. Where I position baby and the family, where to stand and what I'm looking for when taking the shot. You'll also have a chance during each pose to take your own photos with me right beside you.

THE SEAMLESS SESSION: This is where we bring it all together. You'll see how I move through an entire newborn session without constantly stopping to figure out what comes next. The aim is to have a workflow and that you understand why it works and how to build one that works for you.

YOU WON't JUST SIT AND WATCH

This is a hands-on workshop. I'll demonstrate how I approach the session, talk you through what I'm doing and then throughout the workshop you'll have the opportunity to photograph, ask questions and get guidance from me. We'll talk about the decisions I'm making, while I'm making them.

What I want you to leave with

Not just a notebook full of information and not 342 things you're now trying to remember for your next session.

I want you to leave with a clear picture of how you want your newborn sessions to run.

A workflow you can take into your next session.

A better understanding of what to photograph.

More confidence in your posing.

And hopefully a little less mental noise when you're standing behind your camera.

You'll know what's coming next, you don't need to spend your session wondering.

You can start to really enjoying newborn sessions without feeling frazzled!

.

When is the best time to book my newborn session?

Second trimester, ideally, that way we can plan properly around your due date. Once baby actually arrives, we'll lock in the actual session date together before they're two weeks old.

What if my baby won't settle?

We stop, feed, cuddle, settle and try again when they're ready. Your baby doesn't need to sleep perfectly for the photos to turn out beautifully. I build that time into every session so nothing feels rushed.

What if I'm exhausted?

Honestly, you probably will be. But you don't need to look like you've had eight hours of sleep, or pretend you're feeling amazing. Come exactly as you are, I'll look after you. These photos aren't for right now, they're for the version of you in years to come, looking back at how much love was there through all of it.

What if I've never had professional photos taken?

Completely fine too. I'll guide you into positions that focus on connection, not
performance, and prompt you in ways that get real reactions rather than forced ones. You just need to be there with your baby, I'll handle the rest.

What should I wear?

I'll help you with this prior to your session, so you're not standing in front of your wardrobe at 2am googling "postpartum photoshoot outfits." I've got you and I offer styling advice for your partner too, down to colours and where to actually find them.

What if I need to feed my baby during the session?

Then feed your baby 🤎 No need to apologise or explain, time's already built into your session for exactly this. Your preparation guide, sent before your session, walks you through everything else so you know what to expect.

One day, you'll look back and realise just how little they were.

The tiny fingers.
The sleepy cuddles.
The exact way they fit into your arms like they were made for it.
You'll probably remember how tired you were too.
But you'll remember the love more.
The love that was there in the middle of all the chaos.
And you'll be so glad you slowed down for it.
I'd love to help you remember it.
